Samuel J. Smith
Co-Founder of Event Camp Twin Cities
Samuel J. Smith is a leading thought leader, speaker and award winning innovator on event technology. In 2010, Sam co-founded Event Camp Twin Cities an innovation lab for events that rewrote the rules for attendee engagement in hybrid events. Sam is a judge of EIBTM’s WorldWide Technology Watch Awards. He runs Interactive Meeting Technology, LLC an event technology consultancy that specializes in interactive meetings and hybrid events. Sam is a member of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), International Special Events Society (ISES), Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association (MIMA).

Ray has been an innovative leader and industry expert on interactive meeting technology and audience response systems for nearly a decade. Armed with a multimedia and web design degree from the Art Institutes International, Ray soon found himself working as an interactive meeting producer and designing event applications for a production company based in Minneapolis, MN and New York City. After being a part of 400+ meetings and events using technology, Ray has both a technical and practical understanding of how to maximize the interactive environment of an audience. In July of 2010, Ray started AppEvision and has been developing social, mobile applications to engage, educate and communicate to audiences of any size.
Lindsey has combined her creative prowess, passion for social good, organization, clear communication skills, and entrepreneurial gravitas to consult on fundraising events for major non-profit organizations and companies interested in creating benefits. She has worked across many fields of industry and strives to find unique and customized solutions in long-term strategy for her clients.
In 2010, Lindsey co-founded Event Camp East Coast with Traci Browne and Adrian Segar. In addition, she helped Sam and Ray make Event Camp Twin Cities a success by volunteering to help wherever she could lend a hand.
Brandt is the master of all things Powerpoint and Production. As the Director of Technology at MetroConnections – Brandt has 100′s of productions and thousands of Powerpoint presentations under his belt. He has recently turned his sights on furthering the discussion of how we, as event and meeting planners, can help make presentations better and increase the overall quality of our programs.

Emilie Barta’s #1 goal is engaging the audience…no matter where they are located! She helps design the audience’s experience before the event, hosts the audience’s experience at the event, and continues the audience’s experience after the event through the power of video, online communities, and social media. Emilie’s 15 years of broadcast/video experience and 13 years of live event experience enable her to help meeting, conference, and trade show organizers plan successful, visually stimulating, and interactive hybrid events. Known for her audience engagement expertise, she is forging new territory in the blended conference world and in creating the role of virtual emcee to ensure that the virtual audience feels like they are in the room even though they are not physically in the room.
Glenn Thayer is a professional presenter and host for live and hybrid events. His clients include Hewlett-Packard, Bayer, AAA, Progressive Insurance, and more. He is regularly seen on PBS as a pledge drive host and can be heard on radio and television representing clients such as Comcast and Quiznos. Glenn uses multiple formats to engage keynote and breakout presenters in a two-way dialog with the face-to-face and virtual audience. The result is a high level of engagement and educational value for the attendees.
