Program Highlights

> What will events look like in 2015? Think about how social media and mobile technology has changed communication in the past few years. Then look into your crystal ball and consider how it will continue to evolve and influence our events. Hosted by David Adler, CEO of BizBash this session will lead the audience through a discussion and series of questions that asks us to consider the event’s world in 2015. What will it look like? How will the changes that we are going through with Social Media impact the future of events.

> Pecha Kucha: The Face-to-Face Twitter Stream for Events. Twitter is like turning on a firehose for most people. The ideas and content fly at you so fast, you feel like you can never keep up. Event content, by comparison, can seem boring and slow. The Pecha Kucha presentation format is the answer. Using a 20 slides X 20 seconds per slide format, speakers are challenged to deliver fast paced, focused presentations that share many ideas and content quickly. Here’s where you can learn all about Pecha Kucha, the presentation phenomena that has exploded around the globe since its introduction in 2003.

Our Pecha Kucha session will be a set of presentations that are created by the attendees before they come onsite around the following themes:

  • Social Media in Events
  • Event Design
  • Tradeshow Innovation
  • Hybrid Events

> Can Hybrid and Virtual Events be interactive and Social? Can Hybrid and Virtual Events be interactive experiences? Many people think about it like watching TV. Join Mike Westscott, VP of Marketing at INXPO to talk about the challenges in making events social and interactive. Then, Mike will talk about some strategies that you can implement in your events to make hybrid and virtual events social and interactive.

> Lead an Italian Racing Team. Get behind the wheel and take over the reigns of an Italian racing team. Will you lead your team to victory lane or will you spin out?  This business simulation puts you in leadership situations where you have to think fast, make decisions then consider why you did it.

> The Chief A/V Girl’s Innovation Lab. The Chief A/V Girl is to Meeting Professionals what “Q” was to James Bond. In this interactive “lab” type session, the Chief A/V girl (Midori Connolly) will lead you through some consumer reports, white lab coat testing to evaluate the latest mobile devices and handheld gadgets that are being used in the meetings industry.

Digital Scavenger Hunt. What happens when you bring Social Media, Mobile technology and Scavenger hunts together? You have a blast discovering the physical (Minneapolis) and virtual world around you.

> Learning Reflection. Finding one idea that you can take home and try is an important part of this event. Adrian Segar, Author of Conferences that Work will lead a collaborative session to remind us what we experienced and learned during the event. These reflections will help attendees pinpoint one or two ideas that they can try at home.
